Glitter paint is terrible for airbrush, great for paintbrush! UPDATE: Great for casting resin too!

Glitter paint is terrible for airbrush, great for paintbrush! UPDATE: Great for casting resin too!
Having done digital art for over 10 years, I've been trying my hand at physical art. I got into airbrushing just over a year ago and have been enjoying not only airbrushing art but giving new life to decorative 3D printed statues that I print to use up old filament.I've also been enjoying trying different types of paint for airbrushing 3D prints. Having tried metallic airbrush paints, I wondered if these glitter paints could flow through an airbrush with a 0.5mm nozzle. I couldn't find an answer, so I decided to get these and find out myself. As I suspected, even with a larger 0.5mm nozzle and needle, the glitter particles in these paints don't flow cleanly through the airbrush, eventually clogging it. Annoyed, I shelved these paints and shortly after, discovered the fun of airbrushing Testor's enamel paint.I never realized until last week that I have tons of paintbrushes.... So.... I took these paints out, got a set of paintbrushes and dug out an old 3D print- the one you see in the photos.I had a lot of fun hand painting this 3D print. Plus, it's winter here and far too cold to use my airbrush- I have a booth that needs to exhaust out an open window. I don't want to freeze and I'm sure the cold would be bad for my compressor, the airbrush and the paint but I digress. There's enough color variety in this set too- for the brown splotches on the toad's body, I just mixed orange and black in increments until I got the shade of brown I wanted. I will note that, the photos don't quite do the glittery aesthetic of this paint justice. Looking at this toad in person, it's speckled with occasional glitter specks which is what I'd hoped for; I didn't want the paint to be overly glittery. This paint really gave new life to this 3D printed toad, which was a monochrome aquamarine blue color. While I was disappointed that my hopes of this paint working in an airbrush were dashed, I am very impressed by the finish I got with a good ol' paintbrush.UPDATE: I recently got into casting resin. One day, I was researching coloring mediums for the resin and saw people adding all sorts of paints to their resin mixes. The quality and degree of success varied, but I have several types of paint sitting around and winter refuses to leave my area, so I've been using up my paints with casting resin. With just one to a few drops, I find this glitter paint REALLY adds life to clear casting resin!! I've got some glow-in-the-dark paint I like to use with resin, but it's pigments always separate after I've mixed it in. Adding a bit of glow in the dark paint to this glitter paint in resin just gives the casting that much more ambience! Unlike some of my other paints, this glitter paint hasn't added too many bubbles to my castings.I don't have any photos, but a lot of my castings have really turned out nicely because of this paint! Want it translucent? Only add a drop or two, literally. Want it opaque? Add a few more drops! Less is more here. This is really nice, as the paint adds color, and there's not so much glitter that it makes the casting look gaudy. In the short time I've been using this glitter paint for resin casting, I've used up two bottles! If I keep casting resin and using this paint up, I'm definitely going to get more when I run out!
