I've tried a couple different brands of those inside-cabinet latches, with mixed success (my 18-mo daughter can pull hard enough to detach the adhesive ones, and the screw-in ones are a PITA to install correctly), but I got these to keep the freezer shut, and they work great for both the freezer and cabinets! I have one on the freezer, one holding the two under-sink doors shut, and one keeping the cabinets where i keep the appliances shut. My only complaint is they don't work well for single kitchen cabinets (without a corresponding paired door facing in the opposite direction), so I still have to use the internal latches for those.
I had to remove one after testing it on a single door, and it pried up fine with a butter knife without any paint damage, although it wasn't reusable. They're dead easy to install, obviously. They seem quite sturdy overall -- my daughter hasn't been able to force them off, and although the cabinets have a little give in them when locked, they don't make that annoying/appealing "click click" noise when pulled like the internal latches, so she doesn't actually test them that often. My one warning is that the first one I installed, I must not have pressed the plastic bit hard enough when I assembled it to the desired size, because when I tugged on it, the strap slipped loose. So make sure you give everything a good tug after assembly to make sure it's solid!

LIFE CHANGING, SANITY SAVING!!!
Did you see the photos that I included with this review? I use these on EVERYTHING!Cabinets. Silverware drawer. Dishwasher. Doors. Dresser drawers. Entertainment stand. The refrigerator.So they make so many childproofing products that actually don’t work. THESE WORK! For starters, you get a good amount in one pack. The adhesive that you stick on each end, is super super super sticky. It’s not coming off unless you force it to come off. I was skeptical before I purchased thinking it’s something my kids could take one good yank at and rip off, but they can’t. I have the entertainment stand doors childproofed with this product and the kids have tried to open them SEVERAL times with no success. If I don’t use these on their dresser drawers, every morning both of them will clean out each one of their dressers when they wake up. It was a constant mess. These were LIFECHANGING. (And sanity savers.... but I’m so serious!) I am so ready for the toddler stage to be over, however, these have made it much much less......... messy. :)
